Job Summary

Event servers assist in setting, serving, and cleaning at weddings and special events.

Part time to full time positions in a fast paced event venue. Weekend hours are required.

Responsibilities (varies with experience/position)

  • Execute event related, set-up, service, and clean-up tasks
  • Execution of daily tasks at direction of event managers
  • Adhere to rigorous safety & sanitation procedures

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated People/HR Manager to join our team. The People Manager will be responsible for all aspects of human resources and training within the organization. This position requires weekends in office.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and executes team member recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and retention
  • Holds managers accountable for team member scheduling while maintaining strong control on labor costs and unscheduled overtime
  • Implements and manages training process for team members
  • Ensures compliance with team member handbook & procedures
  • Manages standardized service procedures & internal FAQ for team members
  • Manages employment records, including but not limited to new hire packets, I-9s, personnel files, and benefit information
  • Assists with general office duties including but not limited to, answering incoming calls, creating a welcoming environment for team members and guests, and responding to team member inquiries and walk-ins
  • Facilitates difficult conversations with team members when necessary
  • Completes accurate data entry and analysis on a consistent and timely basis
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; coordinate with outside counsel when needed
  • Reports to work in person in a timely manner and is available to work above and beyond scheduled hours
  • Communicates clearly and develops strong working relationships with the entire team
  • Creates an inclusive, respectful, productive, and positive working environment
  • Brings new ideas to the team
  • Participates in the weekly operations meeting and clearly communicates important notes throughout the organization
  • Adapts to multiple event formats and roles as needed

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of human resources experience required
  • Previous hospitality experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Working knowledge of employment laws & reporting requirements
  • Advanced skills in office applications/Google Workspace
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • This position requires weekends in office – general schedule is Wednesday – Sunday.
